Thank you for taking the time to view our ad! From viewing
our pictures it's easy to see how we came up with our name,
Kiss My Cocoa. We use to raise Pomeranians and Boxers but
fell so head over heals for the Danes that we decided to
make this breed our single canine devotion! My husband and
I live on a small ranch in Texas and raise Texas Longhorns
and the chocolate Great Danes.
Chocolate Danes can be Service & Therapy K-9.
Chocolate Danes can compete in Agility, Rally and
Obedience. Chocolate Great Danes are loving, beautiful,
healthy and make wonderful companions.
A chocolate Dane will have a brown nose. ~~ The chocolate
Dane has been around since the mid 1960's. ~~ Our goal is
to breed chocolate Dane to chocolate Dane thus ending up
with pure chocolate lines. ~~ A Dane can be a recessive
chocolate and show no outwards signs of carrying the
chocolate gene. ~~ There is a DNA test to check you Dane
for the chocolate gene or you can research your Dane's
pedigree. ~~ Chocolate Danes can be solid chocolate,
chocolate harlequin aka choclequin, chocolate merle and even
chocolate brindle. ~~ Let's not forget that the Halrequins
and Mantles were not always breed standard colors. The
mantles were not accepted until 1996! For the show and
breed standard breeders who say chocolates are more prone to
health issues and I don't know what I'm doing all I can say
is, "You have your opinion and I respect your right to be
wrong."
I understand the fear of purchasing a puppy over the
internet, however, if you visit our web site I'm sure your
mind will be put at ease about adopting a Dane from us. I've
been breeding dogs off and on since 1978 and we DO have
plenty of great references!
All of our Danes have calm dispositions, gorgeous heads,
strong bodies and bones, correct bite and teeth inclusion,
are very intelligent and obedient, they are correct and
tall, have good top lines, have sweet temperaments and good
length of leg and tail set as well as good length to their
tails. Too many Danes out there have thin, short tails! We
want our 4-legged "kids" to be physically sound and
attractive to the eye so they can give us fantastic
"grandchildren" that everyone will want!
We also strive to produce healthy, well socialized puppies
that represent the breed correctly but with DESIRED DESIGNER
coloring! Our favorites are the Chocolates, Fawnequins and
Brindlequins. Over the years we have seen an increase in the
desire for "DESIGNER" Danes vs. the qualifying show colors
so we are very pleased to be breeding specifically for the
colors we happen to love best! Show people have a
problem with our breeding program but I feel the colors we
are breeding for will eventually be accepted in the show
ring, and if not, that's OK too because there are plenty of
people out there wanting Designer Danes.... and if they are
not interested in showing and just want a pet then I see no
problem in what we're doing; as long as we are breeding
QUALITY puppies!
