Welcome to JazzNBlues!
Being involved in the dog and cat breeding and showing business
for over 40 years has been the thrill of a lifetime. We have
traveled extensively showing various breeds and many of our
animals have become champions. About 4 years ago, we became
enamored with Australian Shepherds and Ragdoll cats. These are
now the only breeds that we raise and show. We are proud to be
able to share them with people who are looking for the very
best. Being ethical and honest and earning the trust of everyone
is of the utmost importance to us. We belong to the generation
when one’s word was their bond and we still believe in that.
Rest assured, when you buy from us, you will get a stunning,
champion pedigreed, and disease-free kitten to love.
We have an excellent reputation and belong to many professional
clubs. JazzNBlues is a licensed cattery and a member of T.I.C.A.
(The International Cat Association), RFCI (Ragdoll Fanciers Club
International), RI (Ragdoll International), and CFA (Cat
Fancier’s Association). Our cattery is located in our home and
is not a large commercial breeding mill. This allows us to
interact with all the cats in a very personal way. Kittens get
socialized early to lots of people, other animals, noises and a
diversity of everyday experiences.
We are very particular with our breeding plan. It took us over 2
years just to locate the right breeding stock that offered the
finest in pedigrees. Breeding is planned accordingly and none of
our cats are so closely related that it negatively impacts their
kittens. Subsequently, our kittens have good health, loving
personalities, sweet-faces, and high intelligence. They are the
optimum of the breed standard, with Large Size, Soft Bunny Coats
and Vivid Blue Eyes.
Ragdolls are blue-eyed "pointed" cats like the Siamese,
Himalayan and Birman breeds. JazzNBlues focuses on just two
colors. One of which is seal, which means that they have points
that are deep brown or even a bit blackish. The body is fawn or
beige and it shades to a lighter crème or white on the chest and
under parts.
The other color we have is blue. If you are not familiar with
feline genetics you may ask, “What is a BLUE cat?” The blues are
quite unique as they are created by what is called the dilution
gene. It must be inherited from each parent. Cats will look
blue/gray when that the seal color has been degraded. The
dilution gene compacts the brown pigment such that the light
reflecting from those parts of the cells dilutes the appearance
of the color to that of a blue-gray.
Your time spent in checking us out is greatly appreciated. If
you have any questions, please email and we will be happy to
talk with you and offer recommendations and guidance. We are a
small, top-quality cattery and may not have kittens at all times
of the year. So, please plan ahead if you would like to buy a
kitten from us. |
