Sunbright Sokoke Cats-striving to Preserve and
Promote the World's Rarest Breed of cat!
Imported Kenyan (New) and Danish (Old) lines-with three breeding
pair we usually have kittens available to place as Pets and
Breeders throughout the Year. If you are a serious fancier
interested in breeding the Sokoke and joining us in bringing
them into the TICA Showhalls, please feel free to contact us. If
you are a loving cat person looking for a Unique and special
Pet, this Breed may be right for you!
These peace-loving, intuitive, sensitive and playful cats are a
naturally-occurring Breed found in the Arabuko-Sokoke Forest
preserve area on the Kenyan Coast in Africa.
They have a very muscular feel to their bodies, a slick tight
coat and bond closely to their people and mates. They are family
-oriented, with the males often helping raise the kittens. They
are quiet cats, but can vocalize in an interesting array of
sounds-a chirping noise as well as a "holler" when alarmed. The
males like to roll at your feet and sink slowly to the ground,
asking for their tummies to be rubbed as they freeze with
emotion in a peculiarly Sokoke greeting. They are Unique and
Special and Different from any other Breeds we work with
here-including Aby, Bengal, Savannah and Chausie.
We get calls constantly from people thinking they have a found
Sokoke or a stray that "looks just like one" and all I can say
is they aren't Sokokes just because they have a modified classic
pattern and a few characteristics. Classic Tabby is the most
common cat pattern and the Sokoke has alot more than pattern
going for it. They are so rare there really hasn't been any
running the streets intact and having accidental litters to
find, so please don't think your found stray is a Sokoke based
on internet pictures and color/pattern.
We have a lot of experience in airshipping/ and because the
Sokoke is not a manufactured Man-made hybrid Breed, and is
considered 100% domestic, no CITES is required to ship
Internationally.
Please feel free to contact us with any Sokoke questions or
queries. If we don't have exactly what you are seeking, we can
refer you to honest, reputable Breeders whose priorities are the
Breed and proper placement of kittens/cats. |
